Friday Night Under the Stadium Lights — VCMCo. Sponsors the 2021 Outlaw Flat Track Races
Two years after our first flat track race at Fuji Park left us completely hooked, we came back to Carson City in 2021 — this time not just as fans, but as sponsors. The Outlaw Flat Track Races were back, the stadium lights were on, and the VCMCo. crew showed up bigger and louder than ever.
I love the races. That hasn't changed. But this year had a whole different energy to it.
From Spectators to Sponsors
In 2019 we sat in the grandstands and fell in love with flat track racing at Fuji Park. In 2021, VCMCo. came back as a sponsor of the Carson City Sheriff's Office during the race. That progression — from first-time fan to brand sponsor in two years — is exactly the kind of community involvement VCMCo. was built to pursue. We don't just attend events in Northern Nevada. We invest in them. We show up for the people and organizations that make this community what it is.
Sponsoring the CCSO team felt right. These are the people who serve our community every day, and seeing them out on a flat track on a Friday night having the time of their lives — competing, laughing, racing — is a reminder that behind every badge is a person who loves a good time as much as anyone. It just warms my heart to see these guys have so much fun.
My Brother — Organizer, Artist, Racer
The man behind VCMCo.'s artwork showed up again in 2021 — this time not just as the artist on our shirts, but as one of the organizers of the event itself. My brother helped put together the Outlaw Flat Track Races as a fundraiser to support the local Firemen and Sheriff's offices. Organizing a motorsports event for first responders while also being one of the people on the track takes a certain kind of person. I am so proud of him for making it happen.
The event was family-friendly, community-focused, and exactly the kind of thing that makes Northern Nevada special. This isn't a corporate production — it's local people coming together to support local heroes through the thing they love most: racing.
The Firemen Won — And They Earned It
The Firemen took the win in 2021. And given the way the wildfire season was shaping up that summer — smoke filling the valleys, fires burning across the region, crews working around the clock — I'd have to say right now they are all winners in my book regardless of what happened on the track. The firefighters of Northern Nevada were carrying an enormous load that summer. Watching them come out on a Friday night and race under the lights with everything they had was something special to witness.
They earned that win in more ways than one.
More Family, More Friends, More VCMCo. Crew
The 2021 event was bigger in every way that matters. More family came out. More friends showed up. The VCMCo. crew was out in force — wearing the brand, cheering on the riders, and being part of a night that brought the community together under the stadium lights in the best possible way. That's what these events are for. Not just the racing — though the racing was dynamic and delivered everything flat track promises — but the gathering. The people. The shared experience of being somewhere together that matters.
From 2019 to 2021, our relationship with flat track racing in Carson City went from discovery to investment. That's the VCMCo. story in miniature — find the things worth loving in this community, and find a way to be part of them at a deeper level every year.
